ECM is the electronic module on the basis of the microprocessor which on the basis of the analysis of signals arriving from various information gauges exercises administration of functioning of systems of injection, ignitions and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases.

Into number carried out ECM problems enter:
  1. Fuel management in parametres of injection;
  2. In ignition management in parametres;
  3. Management of system EGR functioning;
  4. Management of functioning of system of stabilisation of turns of idling (IAC/ISC);
  5. Management of system EVAP functioning;
  6. Management of functioning of the fan of system of cooling;
  7. Management of functioning of the fuel pump;
  8. Self-diagnostics;
  9. Activation of emergency parametres of the failed subsystems.
When ECM develops target signals of the fixed level without the signals arriving from the oxygen gauge (ов), say that the control system functions in a mode of "an open contour”, i.e., without a feedback. If the module starts to process given out by the oxygen gauge (ами) the information the mode becomes "closed" that allows the module to correct parametres of injection and ignition taking into account current operational characteristics of the engine (turns, loading, temperature, …).

In memory of the module emergency values (values by default) the basic working parametres of all subsystems of management are put. The given parametres are activated in case of revealing of refusal of a corresponding subsystem, providing adequacy of functioning of the engine (with inevitable loss of efficiency of return).

Refusal of any subject to monitoring from outside the block of self-diagnostics of a component is fixed in memory of the module in the form of the corresponding five-place code, which reading can be made by means of the special scanner (the Section System of onboard diagnostics (OBD) - a principle of functioning and codes of malfunctions see. On all models ЕСМ fastens on the right under the panel of devices.

At the working engine with finger-tips sharply knock on a processor wall, - if ЕСМ it is faulty, постукивание can lead to infringement of stability of turns of the engine, simultaneously on the display of the scanner connected to system OBD current data on characteristics of work of the engine will be highlighted.

Before to start module replacement check up serviceability of a condition and reliability of fastening of contact connections of electroconducting of its chain. Each contact socket is painted in individual colour that excludes probability of wrong connection of electroconducting at installation ЕСМ. In the absence of obvious signs of infringement of serviceability of functioning ЕСМ the car should be driven away on a car repair shop for carrying out of more detailed diagnostics of the module.


Models of cars considered in the present Management are equipped by system of additional safety (SRS). Before to start performance of any works near to the block of a pillow of safety, a steering column or the instrument panel, disconnect SRS in order to avoid reception of traumas at its casual operation (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head) Electroconducting of chain SRS easily to distinguish on yellow colour of isolation.

In order to avoid damage ЕСМ by the electrostatic category, try not to touch contact plugs of the module. Whenever possible make self-grounding.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!


1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Remove a forward overlay of a threshold of the right door.
3. Remove a carpet covering of a passenger foot well.
4. Turn out fixing screws and uncover the device of block ECM being on the right under the panel.
5. Remove a vinyl cover and give nuts of fastening of block ECM to a basic arm.
6. Liberate from basic arm ECM a collar of a plait of electroconducting ECM.
7. Disconnect electroconducting and remove ECM from a basic arm.

Installation is made upside-down
