Check of a condition of components of system of cooling (each 12 000 km of run or time in 6 months)

The wide spectrum of engine failures is connected with infringement of functioning of system of cooling. On the models equipped АТ, the given system provides also cooling ATF, supporting thereby optimum conditions for transmission work.

Check of a condition of components of system of cooling should be made after full cooling of the power unit (not less than in three hours after an engine stop).

Do not uncover at all a jellied mouth of a radiator at the hot engine!

Uncover a radiator / a broad tank for what at first turn it to the left to the first emphasis. If the hissing specifying in superfluous pressure in system is heard, wait its terminations, then press a cover a palm downwards and continue to turn to the left to an outright release. Carefully wash out a cover from within and outside of pure water. Also wash out jellied mouths of a radiator and a broad tank. From cleared surfaces all traces of corrosion should be completely removed. The cooling liquid being in system should be concerning transparent. If the liquid is painted in colour of a rust, the system should be washed out and filled by a fresh mix (see Has undressed Service of system of cooling (опорожнение, washing and refuelling)). If liquid level does not reach top, add in a radiator of a little more mix of demanded structure (the Section Check of levels of liquids see).

Attentively examine top and bottom радиаторные hoses, and also hoses of system of heating of the salon, having smaller diameter and located between the power unit and a partition of an impellent compartment.

Check hoses on all their length and in case of revealing of cracks, swellings and signs of ageing of a material make replacement of defective components.

The rubber softening testifies to the beginning of its destruction as a result of ageing.

Too hard tightening of a collar for the purpose of more reliable fixing on the union/branch pipe of the hardened hose does not promote the leak termination, and only leads to destruction of a material of a hose.

Check all hoses on presence of swellings and traces of infiltration of oil at end faces. Cracks and small breaks in rubber come to light at сжимании a hose is easier.

Small cracks usually to make out at сжимании a hose easier. Without dependence from a condition it is necessary to change hoses approximately time in two years.

Check up reliability of fastening of all hoses on the unions/branch pipes. Leaks of a cooling liquid usually are shown in a kind потеков rusty or white colour on surfaces surrounding their source. If hoses are fixed on unions/branch pipes by collars of braided type, it will be reasonable to replace the last more reliable worm or screw.

By blowing off by the compressed air, or by means of a soft brush, remove from backlashes between plates of the heat exchanger of a radiator old leaves, remains of insects and other dust. Try not to damage soft plates of the heat exchanger and not to cut about their keen edges fingers.

Every second check, and also at first signs of infringement of functioning of system of cooling make check of a cover of a radiator by pressure. If near at hand there will be no suitable equipment, address for the help on a car repair shop.
