Replacement of impellent oil and the oil filter

Replacement of impellent oil and the oil filter (each 12 000 km of run or time in 6 months)

The tooling, necessary for replacement of impellent oil and the oil filter

1 — the Drain capacity - should be superficial and enough wide to reduce to a minimum probability проливания oils on the earth

Regular and frequent enough performance of replacement of impellent oil is one of the basic procedures of preventive maintenance of the car, lying within qualification of the average mechanic-fan. Eventually impellent oil is subject to ageing that is shown in gradual it разжижении and pollution, leaders to premature deterioration of internal components of the engine. In spite of the fact that separate sources recommend to make replacement of the oil filter only at every second change of impellent oil, composers of the present Management consider that in view of relative insignificance of cost of a replaceable component and importance of influence of its condition on serviceability of functioning of the engine and efficiency of its return, it makes sense to change the filter each time at oil replacement.


1. Make sure available near at hand all materials and the tools necessary for performance of replacement of oil and the oil filter. Prepare also enough of rags and old newspapers for gathering of traces of the spilt oil.
2. For the purpose of maintenance of an easy approach to the pallet картера and to the oil filter lift the car лебедкой, tyre out it on a platform, or поддомкратьте and establish on props. Attention: At all do not carry out any works under the car which has been propped up only under a bumper or kept in lifted position only by a jack!
3. Get under the car and familiarise with an arrangement of a drain stopper of the pallet картера and the oil filter. Remember that the power unit and components of system of release of the fulfilled gases during all time of performance of procedure will remain hot enough, - think over the scheme of safe manipulations with hands to avoid casual contact with разогретыми surfaces.
4. Make sure of horizontal position of an arrangement of the car on props/lifts. Warm up the engine to normal working temperature, - hot oil possesses большей fluidity and is better washes away шлам and deposits. Use the compelled idle time to spread out in a convenient order all necessary tools and materials. Muffle the engine and uncover a jellied mouth of impellent oil.
5. Make sure of reliability of fixing of the car in the lifted position.
6. Being careful, get under the car and establish drain capacity under the pallet картера, with that calculation that during the first moment the stream will follow through an aperture with a decent pressure. Trying not to touch to разогретым to surfaces of the power unit and components of system of release of the fulfilled gases, turn out a drain stopper from the bottom part of the pallet картера. Depending on oil temperature, at a final stage of a reversing of a stopper it is possible to take advantage of rubber gloves, or to refuse them.
7. Allow oil to flow down free in capacity, in appropriate way correcting position of last in process of weakening of a pressure of a stream. Check up the churned butter on presence at it of metal sawdust.
8. After oil will stop to follow from картера the engine, carefully wipe a drain stopper pure rags, - to it can подлипнуть small metal sawdust which will immediately lead to pollution of fresh oil.
9. Wipe a surface of the pallet round a drain aperture, screw a stopper into place and strongly tighten its wrench (whenever possible - динамометрическим in order to avoid carving failure).
10. Move drain capacity under the oil filter.
11. By means of one of types of special keys ослабьте the filter. In the course of a reversing the filter case can appear is damaged that has no special value in case of its unequivocal replacement (the old filter for a reversing can be pierced simply the big screw-driver, - prepare for gathering of spilt oil). Manually definitively turn out the filter from the block, - remember that in it any quantity of oil which should be let out in drain capacity continues to remain. Make sure that the rubber sealing lining has acted in film together with the filter if is not present, accurately separate it from a surface of the block of the engine.
12. Pure rags carefully wipe a landing surface of the filter on the block. Once again make sure that the old lining did not remain on the engine, in case of need take advantage of a scraper.
13. Make sure that the new filter corresponds on a standard size removed from the car. Grease a rubber sealing lining of the new filter with a thin layer of pure impellent oil and screw the new filter in the engine, adhering specified by an arrow on its case of a direction of rotation. In order to avoid damage of a lining do not apply to a tightening of the oil filter any keys. After the filter will nestle a lining on a block surface, hold on it on 3/4 turns.
14. Take from under the car all tools and materials - try not to overturn drain capacity. Lower the car on the earth.
15. Find a jellied mouth of impellent oil and remove from it a cover. Fill in fresh oil in a reception mouth of the engine, - for the purpose of minimisation of losses take advantage of a funnel. For a gulf about 3 l, wait for some minutes, having allowed oil to flow down in the pallet, then check up its level on measuring probeу (the Section Check of levels of liquids see). If level is above the bottom mark, start the engine, having provided circulation of fresh oil.
16. Having allowed to the engine to work within nearby minute, again muffle it, and at once glance under the car, checking, whether there are no leaks through a drain stopper and полнопоточный the filter. In case of need tighten a component supposing leak a little.
17. During oil circulation on the engine (about 1 minute), there is a filling of the new oil filter. Now it is necessary to check up again level of oil and in case of need to add still its some quantity, having finished level to the top mark in an edge probeа (check make after some minutes after engine deenergizing, - oil should have time to flow down completely in the pallet картера).
18. During first several trips after change of impellent oil try as it is possible to check its level is more often.
19. The fulfilled butter churned from the engine is not subject to the secondary use and should be handed over on special place of acceptance. At all do not merge working off on the earth or in the water drain - pour it in tightly closed container and at the first possibility hand over.
