On equipped with brake system of usual type vehicles, sharp squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake leads to blocking of wheels. Coupling of a protector with a road covering is thus broken, and the car can go юзом, losing controllability. The system of antiblocking of brakes (ABS) prevents premature blocking of wheels, continuously operating speed of their rotation during braking at the expense of modulations of pressure of a hydraulic liquid in each of brake mechanisms. Number of basic components ABS concern: four wheel gauges, four rotors of wheel gauges, assemblage the management block (ECU) with the hydraulic modulator, gauge "G" (the gauge of overloads), the gauge-switch of stoplights and control lamp ABS.

The block of management and the hydraulic modulator

Built in in assemblage of the hydraulic modulator the block of management ABS traces speed of rotation of each of car wheels, being guided by arriving signals from wheel gauges. When at emergency braking any of wheels it starts to be blocked prematurely, the management module gives out a command on activation of the electromagnetic valve placed in the hydraulic modulator which, working, opens a corresponding site of a brake contour, letting out from it a part of a hydraulic liquid in the tank and, accordingly, reducing working pressure. As soon as speeds of rotation of wheels are equalised, the valve is closed again also pressure continues to rise. The cycle lasts fractions of a second on each of wheels and repeats until braking will not be finished. The system design allows to correct pressure in hydraulic contours of each of four wheels. Actually the scheme of functioning ABS is much more difficult, than it can seem, therefore composers of the present Management do not recommend to owners of cars to make attempt of independent performance of repair of system. In case of occurrence of malfunctions it will be most reasonable to address to experts of car-care centre.

Wheel gauges and their rotors

Each of wheels is equipped by the individual gauge of turns. The gauge consists of a rotor (a ring with teeth in regular intervals located on its perimetre) and a sensitive element in a kind подмагниченной coils. The sensitive element of the gauge fixes the moments of passage by it teeths of a rotor and will transform the received information to the electric signals continuously transferred to the module of management ABS. By results of processing of arriving signals ECU receives the information on relative speed of rotation of each of wheels. While all four wheels rotate with identical frequency, ABS stays in a passive condition. As soon as any of wheels starts to be blocked, the management block fixes change of an entering signal and develops a command on operation of the modulator instantly dumping pressure of a hydraulic liquid in the brake mechanism of the corresponding wheel.

The gauge-switch of stoplights

On the signals arriving from the gauge-switch of stoplights, ECU defines the moment when the driver squeezes out a pedal of a foot brake, at once activating ABS.

Diagnostics and regenerative repair

The special control lamp located on an instrument guard of the car notifies on refusals ABS of the driver. As soon as ECU elicits the infringement fact in system, it makes its switching-off. The brake system continues to function thus in a usual mode. Diagnostics of condition ABS is made each time at start of the engine and accompanied by short-term operation of a control lamp. During short time after start the llama should be disconnected automatically.

If control lamp ABS lights up and continues to burn during movement, first of all make sure that the lay brake is completely released, and the brake system functions regularly. If all in norm. Hence, there was refusal ABS. First of all make following elementary checks:
  1. Check up a condition of brake supports and wheel cylinders;
  2. Check up a condition and reliability of fastening of contact sockets of electroconducting ECU and wheel gauges (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head).
  3. Check up corresponding safety locks (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Try to include ignitions, without making engine start, - if other, a part combinations of devices work control lamps regularly, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise it is necessary to make the necessary regenerative device of an instrument guard.
2. Switch off ignition. Remove a combination of devices and check up a condition of control lamp ABS. In case of need replace a lamp and repeat check.
3. If the lamp is perfectly in order, disconnect contact socket В100 (dark blue colour) from socket F2 located at the left under the panel of devices. Include ignition and measure pressure between weight and the plug 8 sockets В100. If the result of measurement makes more than 3 In, check up an electroconducting condition between a socket and a combination of devices. Make necessary regenerative repair. If pressure on a socket makes less than 3 In, pass to a following stage of check.
4. Switch off ignition. Check up correctness of landing of control lamp ABS in a payment of a combination of devices. Establish into place a combination.
5. Include ignition and repeat pressure gauging. If the result of measurement makes 10 15 In, pass to the following тапу checks, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition between a socket and a combination of devices. Make necessary regenerative repair.
6. Make pressure check between the plug 8 sockets F2 and weight. If the result of measurement makes less than 3 In, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition between the management block (ECU) ABS and a combination of devices. Make necessary regenerative repair.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Measure resistance between the plug 23 contact sockets of electroconducting ECU ABS and weight. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up serviceability of grounding ECU. Make necessary regenerative repair.
2. Measure resistance between weight and the plug 8 socket F2. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up a condition of a socket and a plait of its electroconducting. Make necessary regenerative repair, in case of need replace a socket.
3. Switch off ignition and check up serviceability of a condition of contact sockets on a combination of devices, - if signs of infringement of reliability of contacts are absent, replace assemblage ECU ABS with the hydraulic modulator.


Control lamp ABS is not disconnected after engine start

At a detachment of electroconducting from the block of management ABS a part Pads the gauge-switch closes a contour between plugs 31 and 23 sockets, thus there should be an operation of control lamp ABS.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure of completeness of landing and reliability of fixing of a contact socket of electroconducting ECU ABS on assemblage of the hydraulic modulator.
2. Measure resistance between weight and each of diagnostic plugs of socket DLC. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up a condition of a plait of electroconducting of socket DLC, make necessary regenerative repair.
3. Switch off ignition and connect the plug № 6 to a diagnostic conclusion.
4. Connect electroconducting to ECU ABS. Measure resistance between weight and the plug № 4 sockets of electroconducting of the block of management. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition between a diagnostic socket and ECU.
5. Start the engine on single turns and check up pressure between plug "In" on the back party of the generator (the food plug) and weight. If the result of measurement makes 10 15 In, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace/repair the generator and repeat check.
6. Switch off ignition. Check up a condition of polar plugs of the battery and reliability of fastening on them клеммных tips of wires. In case of need make necessary corrections.
7. Start the engine on single turns and measure pressure between weight and the plug № 1 contact socket ECU ABS. If the result of measurement makes 10 15 In, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up a condition of electroconducting of a chain of giving of a food. Make necessary regenerative repair.
8. Disunite socket В100/F2 in the left top corner of the panel of devices. Include ignition, - if control lamp ABS does not work, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition on a chain site between a control lamp and socket В100.
9. Switch off ignition and check up a condition of contact plugs of socket ECU ABS. If plugs are perfectly in order, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace the management block.
10. Measure resistance between plugs 21 and 23 contact sockets ECU ABS. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 МОм, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace assemblage ECU / the hydraulic modulator.
11. Measure resistance between weight and the plug 8 sockets F2. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise make necessary regenerative repair of electroconducting.
12. Connect electroconducting to ECU ABS and measure resistance between weight and the plug 8 sockets F2. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 МОм, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise make necessary regenerative repair of electroconducting.
13. Check up a condition and reliability of fixing of a contact socket of electroconducting ECU ABS. In case of need make necessary corrections, or replace the management block / the hydraulic modulator.

It is not possible to make reading of codes of malfunctions

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Measure resistance between weight and diagnostic plugs of socket DLC. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise make necessary regenerative repair of electroconducting.
2. Switch off ignition. Connect a diagnostic conclusion to the plug № 6 sockets DLC. Disconnect electroconducting from the block of management ABS. Measure resistance between weight and the plug № 4 contact sockets ECU. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition on a chain site between socket DLC and the management block. Make necessary regenerative repair.
3. Check up a condition and reliability of fixing of a contact socket of electroconducting ECU ABS. In case of need make necessary corrections, or replace the management block / the hydraulic modulator.


Preparation for testing ABS

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure of completeness of gymnastics of the battery, check up level of a brake liquid, estimate degree of deterioration of protectors, check up correctness of a rating of tyres.
2. Make sure of absence of signs of leaks in a hydraulic contour of brake system.
3. Estimate degree of deterioration brake колодок and disks, - in case of need make replacement.
4. Make sure of absence of signs “прихватывания” brakes.


Check of serviceability of functioning of the hydraulic modulator

Use for connection to supports of brake mechanisms only special manometres. In order to avoid pollution of a brake liquid do not connect the manometres earlier used for check of hydraulic path АТ!

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Turn out gates of prorolling of supports of brake mechanisms of forward wheels.
2. Connect to supports manometres and pump over hydraulic system. Connect diagnostic plugs to plugs №№ 3 and 6 sockets DLC.
3. Go into the car forward or back wheels on the stand of brake diagnostics and translate transmission in neutral position. Expose a high-speed mode of testing in 4 or hardly less than km/h. Include ignition, - control lamp ABS should light up approximately for 1.5 seconds, then go out.
4. Within 0.5 seconds after switching-off of a control lamp squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake, - the hydraulic modulator should start to function. Watch indications of the manometres connected to supports, - the modulator should make декомпрессию contours of brake mechanisms of the left and right forward wheels, fixing of pressure and, then, again its raising. Initial pressure should make 35 кГс/см2; depth декомпрессии: to 5 кГс/см2 (and more low); the restored pressure: not less than 35 кГс/см2.
5. Switch off ignition. Disconnect manometres and repeat check, this time for contours of mechanisms of back wheels of the car.

Reading of codes of malfunctions of system of self-diagnostics ABS

Preliminary check up serviceability of a condition and functioning of control lamp ABS (see above).


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Find diagnostic socket ABS.
2. Switch off ignition and connect one of diagnostic plugs to the plug № 6 DLC. Include ignition and make reading highlighted by a control lamp brought in memory of the module of self-diagnostics ECU ABS of codes of malfunctions and execute corresponding of described below tests (see the table). The first always highlights a control code 11, it stands out in the end of procedure, is equal and as in case of absence in memory of any records. There is a storage possibility in the buffer simultaneously to three codes, and the first is highlighted brought by the last. See also a card of pressure of contact plugs of socket ECU ABS.

Clearing of memory of the module of self-diagnostics ECU ABS

Having finished reading, three times within 12 seconds disconnect/connect the diagnostic plug from the plug 6 sockets DLC. Successful end of clearing of memory should prove to be true выcandlesиванием a control code 11.

The test № 1: Breakage in chains of the wheel gauge, or excessively high level of entrance pressure

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Switch off ignition. Disconnect electroconducting from the corresponding wheel gauge. Measure resistance between corresponding plugs of a contact socket of the gauge. If the result of measurement does not fall outside the limits a range 800 1200 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace the gauge.
2. Disconnect electroconducting from ECU ABS. Include ignition and measure pressure between weight and the plug № 1 corresponding wheel gauge. If pressure is absent, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace the gauge.
3. Switch off ignition and connect electroconducting to the gauge. Measure resistance between corresponding plugs ECU ABS (see the table). Measure resistance between corresponding plugs of a contact socket of the gauge. If the result of measurement does not fall outside the limits a range 800 1200 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition on a site between the block of management and the gauge. Make necessary regenerative repair.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Measure pressure between weight and corresponding plugs of contact socket ECU ABS (see the table).Если pressure takes place, eliminate the short circuit reason in a chain on a site between the gauge and ECU ABS. In the absence of pressure include ignition and repeat check. If pressure on the former is absent, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition between the gauge and ECU ABS, in case of need eliminate the short circuit reason.
2. Check up reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of the gauge and its rotor (Specifications see). In case of need tighten fixture and pass to a following stage of check.
3. Measure backlash size between the gauge and a rotor on all perimetre of the last. At an insufficient backlash (Specifications see) make its updating by means of the special adaptation (26755АА000). If the backlash is too great, remove remote linings and replace a rotor or the failed gauge. Having finished adjustment, pass to a following stage of check.
4. Check up size of palpation of a nave of a wheel. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.05 mm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace a nave.
5. Switch off ignition and measure resistance between weight and the plug № 1 contact socket of the wheel gauge. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 МОм, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace the gauge.
6. Switch off ignition and connect to the wheel gauge electroconducting. Measure resistance between weight and the corresponding plug of contact socket ECU ABS. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 МОм, pass to a following stage of check, in opposite check up an electroconducting condition on a chain site between the gauge and ECU ABS. Make necessary regenerative repair. If electroconducting is perfectly in order, replace ECU.
7. Check up reliability of fastening of contact sockets ECU ABS and the wheel gauge. Make necessary corrections. If contacts are perfectly in order, pass to a following stage of check.
8. Restore initial connection of all contact sockets. Also repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If any changes (to the best) has not occurred, replace ECU ABS. At occurrence of new codes pass to corresponding test. If refusal has not repeated, hence, malfunction carried a temporality, - still make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.


The test 2: Short circuit in a chain of the wheel gauge

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check up reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of the gauge and its rotor (Specifications see). In case of need tighten fixture and pass to a following stage of check.
2. Measure backlash size between the gauge and a rotor on all perimetre of the last. At an insufficient backlash (Specifications see) make its updating by means of the special adaptation (26755АА000). If the backlash is too great, remove remote linings and replace a rotor or the failed gauge. Having finished adjustment, pass to a following stage of check.
3. In the absence of possibility to take advantage of an oscillograph pass to check of a mechanical condition of a rotor and clearing of components.
4. In the presence of an oscillograph поддомкратьте the car also establish it on props, - wheels should come off the earth completely. Switch off ignition and connect an oscillograph to corresponding plugs of socket В100 in the left top corner of the panel of the device, and also to 12-contact socket F55 located under an instrument guard.


Performance of the given procedure can lead to record in memory of the module of self-diagnostics ECU ABS of a code of malfunction 29.

1. Include ignition and, rotating a corresponding wheel of the car, watch oscillograph indications. The amplitude of a displayed sinusoidal signal should not fall outside the limits a range 0.12 1.00 In, - if the given condition is not carried out, or the signal has the wrong form, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise pass to performance of the procedure described in paragraph 4.
2. Attentively examine the wheel gauge and its rotor on presence of signs of damages and pollution. Wipe components, will rectify taking place faults.
3. Check up size of palpation of a nave of a wheel. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.05 mm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace a nave.
4. Switch off ignition. Disconnect electroconducting from the corresponding wheel gauge. Measure resistance between corresponding plugs of a contact socket of the gauge. If the result of measurement does not fall outside the limits a range 800 1200 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace the gauge.
5. Switch off ignition and measure resistance between weight and the plug № 1 contact socket of the wheel gauge. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 МОм, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise replace the gauge.
6. Switch off ignition and connect to the wheel gauge electroconducting. Measure resistance between weight and the corresponding plug of contact socket ECU ABS (see the table). If the result of measurement does not fall outside the limits a range 800 1200 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise make necessary regenerative repair of electroconducting on a chain site between the gauge and ECU ABS.

1. Measure resistance between weight and the plug № 23 contact sockets ECU ABS. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohm, pass to a following stage of check, otherwise make necessary regenerative repair of electroconducting on a chain site between the gauge and I forge ABS.
2. Check up reliability of fastening of contact sockets ECU ABS and the wheel gauge. Make necessary corrections. If contacts are perfectly in order, pass to a following stage of check.
3. Make sure that automobile phone/transmitter of remote control are established far enough from a plait of electroconducting of the wheel gauge.
