Heating of back glass and rear-view mirrors - the general information, check of serviceability of functioning, regenerative repair

The general information

Heating of external rear-view mirrors joins simultaneously with heating of back glass of the car.

While translating the switch of heating back glasses/rear-view mirrors there is a short circuit on weight of the electromagnetic relay of a chain of giving of a food to corresponding heating elements. The display lamp of inclusion of heating is built usually in in the switch button, but can settle down and on an instrument guard. The heating system relay is in салонном the assembly block of safety locks/relays.

The working element of a heater of back glass represents a horizontal lattice from the current-carrying threads pasted on an internal surface has flown down.

Check up serviceability of functioning of the switch of heating for what, accurately having hooked, liberate it from the panel of devices.  PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the relay of a heater and check up correctness of distribution of conductivity between its plugs. Conductivity (with certain resistance) should take place between plugs 1 and 3 and should not take place between plugs 2 and 4. Further, submit between plugs 1 and 3 pressure, - between plugs 2 and 4 there should be a conductivity.
2. Include ignition and a heater of back glass. Press positive probe the voltmeter to the positive plug of a lattice of a heating element, negative probe press to the grounding plug. The device should register pressure of the battery, otherwise check up a condition of a safety lock, the switch and connecting electroconducting. If pressure in norm, however, a heater part does not work. Pass to a following stage of check.
3. To measure pressure during described below checks wind positive probe the voltmeter with a metal foil which will be easy for pressing a finger directly to токопроводной threads of a lattice of a heating element. Negative probe a measuring instrument connect to the plug of grounding of a lattice.
4. Measure pressure in the central part of each of lattice threads. The indication in 5 6 In testifies to serviceability of a condition of a thread. 5. In the absence of breakages connect negative probe to weight of the chassis and repeat check, - indications should not change, infringement of quality of grounding of a lattice otherwise takes place.
6. For breakage localisation press negative probe the voltmeter to the negative plug of a lattice of a heating element. Wrapped up by a foil positive probeом start to probe токопроводные lattice threads, moving from outside food givings to weight. In a point of breakage the instrument reading should fall from several volt to zero.

Regenerative repair

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Integrity restoration токопроводных threads is made by means of special two-componental electrowire paste of type Dupont № 4817.
2. Before to start regenerative repair of a lattice of a working element switch off a heater and allow to an element to cool down within several minutes.
3. Slightly smooth out the damaged site of a thread felt, then carefully wipe its spirit.
4. Paste two strips of an adhesive tape along a site of a thread subject to restoration. Carefully get mixed up эпоксидную paste with a hardener (follow instructions applied in a set). Put the received structure on the damaged site (with a tipping over approximately in 20 mm on edges of the intact thread).
5. Definitive polymerisation компаунда occurs in 24 hours after which protective strips of an adhesive tape can be removed from glass.
