Check of effort of rotation of the steering mechanism

1. Tyre out the car on an equal horizontal platform with a concrete covering, leave the engine working on single turns. 2. Effort check проворачивания a steering wheel is made by means of a spring dynamometer (steelyard). The result of measurement should not exceed value 3 кГс in both directions of rotation.
3. Repeat measurement at the muffled engine, - the effort проворачивания should increase approximately in 10 times (no more than 30 кГс).
4. In case of negative results of checks it is necessary to make adjustment люфта gearings реечной transfers (the Section Adjustment люфта gearings реечной transfers see).
5. If adjustment реечной transfers does not lead to situation correction (by results of repeated check), disconnect карданный the hinge from a steering column, - now the effort проворачивания should make no more than 0.23 кГс, otherwise it is necessary to check up a condition and reliability of fastening of tips of steering draughts and spherical support of a suspension bracket. Make sure also that it is not jammed карданный the hinge. |
6. Remove assemblage of the steering mechanism (see Has undressed Removal and installation of the steering mechanism) and measure effort проворачивания its entrance shaft at disconnected карданном the hinge. The result of measurement should not make more than 1.3 кГс. |

7. Remove internal tips of steering draughts and by means of a spring dynamometer measure resistance of sliding рейки. The result of measurement should not exceed value in 31 кГс, and the difference between measurements at вытягивании рейки divergently also should not leave for a limit in 20 %. |
